August 2008. Charlton Hill, east slope. Q264 is coming by light engines.
Even though this shot was going away, it was hard to resist. An unknown symbol CSX Intermodal train (Q116?) heads east towards Boston. Its present location is West Warren, but in about 8 miles it will be starting its grind up Charlton Hill.

Another shot of him switching.
August 22, 2008. Frustrated with CSX today I chased this shortline some from Palmer to Barre, Mass. Here he is switching at Barre, MA
Here comes the Mass Central. If you notice to the left of the engine the bridge abutments that carried the old Central Mass over this line at River Run.
This is a second shot of him. I wanted to get him going by the old abutments on the Central Mass Bridge where it crossed this line (former B&A branch). I misjudged his speed and fired just a wee bit late.
Here he flies by me in Hardwick, Mass. This is the River Run grade crossing. Look at the dust kicked up. He just has 3 box cars today.
